When Geoff Rowley moved from Liverpool to the US in the late `90s, he immediately went bigger, harder and faster than almost everyone around him. He revolutionized handrail skating and did it with style at a time when style had taken a backseat in the name of progress. Geoff always believed in the performance benefits of Vans vulcanized construction and fought to bring it back when the trend had shifted to bulky cupsoles. While everyone else was skating in giant pants and sneakers, Geoff was grinding the massive hubba at the Staples Center in plain old Authentics. Since that introduction of Geoff's first signature shoe, Vans vulc styles have dominated the landscape.
Say hello to Geoff Rowley: skateboarder from Liverpool, England. Again, say hello to Geoff Rowley: business executive, designer, master marketeer, visionary, champion of culture, skateboarder. A battle of determination, strong will, and a vision for what was right for skateboarding that ultimately helped Vans find its way again. Rowley vs Convention. This is the story of one kid versus the world… versus convention… versus pain… versus fear… versus himself.
